Join us for a night of performances by In Balance Yoga acro yogis and instructors, Little Leapers & LEAP Performing Arts Academy, Sapphire Ballroom, modern dancer Rachel Rugh and team, hula hooper Maria Nehring, belly dancer Kathryn Meissner and members of Raq Roanoke (a group of local professional and semiprofessional dancers) and the president of Hill and Veil, the bellydancers of VT, and costumed figure drawing models demonstrating their craft.  To complement this expressive evening, we will have on display performance-based photography by April Amodeo, Marino Colmano, and Roger Gupta.

Members of our figure drawing class will be actively engaged in creating visual works of art from these live performing artists.  We also will supply sketch paper and pencils to our guests so inclined to capture the movement in their own art.  We will exhibit any and all works of our figure drawers and guests throughout the evening.

Refreshments will be served and all are welcome!

Whet Your Palette: “Art Through The Eras” Juried Show

For our first show of 2015, we invited artists to a juried show in which we asked them to imitate the old masters and create something new for a brand new year. And respond they did! We had over 50 pieces from which to choose, qualifying work including painting, textile, photography, and mixed media as they fit into the interpretation of the following eras:
• Dutch Still Life
• Romanticism
• Impressionism
• Realism
• Cubism
• Surrealism
• Abstract Expressionism
• Outsider Art or “Raw Art”
• Pop Art
See what historic eras influence our community artists and behold some very fresh, exciting material! Prizes, included People’s Choice, will be awarded the night of our Whet Your Palette, so come out and vote for your favorite!
